MY STORY:

From the very beginning of my life I have always LOVED tea. Anytime of day, any kind of tea, prepared any way…tea, tea, tea! Around 2014 I was introduced to being with tea in another more meditative way. The very act of brewing, pouring, sharing, and drinking the tea became elevated…illuminated. That’s why I named one of my Instagram accounts, @illuminatedtea.

Many years later in 2020 I attended a week long Zen & Tea retreat at Esalen Resort in Big Sur, CA. with my tea teacher, Wu De. Again…my experience of being with tea took a HUGE leap forward (inward, actually) and I took away one of my deepest teachings that sits with me today.

“To be with tea, by yourself, day after day after day…year after year…as a ritual.”

I spent MANY years in solo practice with myself before and after the retreat. Sitting in stillness with tea, the wind, the birds, the trees, my cat, my anger, my joy, my despair, my grief….you get the picture.

I have been sharing tea in various ways and brewing methods publicly now since 2022.

MY MISSION STATEMENT:

At Original Frequency, we are dedicated to sharing the profound benefits of wild living teas sourced from pristine, mountainous regions of China. Our teas are sourced from tea farmers that respect “The Leaf” and farm without pollutants, ensuring a pure and authentic experience.

For over 20 years, we have been committed to co-creating humanity’s evolution through ceremonial sound events and tea ceremonies offering a unique blend of tradition and innovation on California’s central coast.

Within the rich tapestry of tea culture, I have been profoundly blessed to learn from two remarkable teachers, Wu De from Taiwan, the visionary founder of Global Tea Hut, and Sooze from Being Tea in Chicago, whose insights and expertise illuminate the path to true appreciation of this ancient art.

Their deep knowledge and passion for tea transcend the mere act of brewing; they embody a philosophy that connects us to nature, philosophy, community, and ourselves. Through their guidance, I have discovered the delicate nuances of flavor, the meditative practices of ceremony, and the stories woven into each leaf, transforming the simple act of drinking tea into a sacred experience that fosters connection and awareness.

In this shared journey, I invite you to explore the transformative power of tea, cultivated through the teachings of these exceptional mentors, and to discover how each cup can become a moment of mindfulness and celebration in our daily lives.
